Obama attempts to reassure the public about the economy, jobs (AP)

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is reassuring the public that the jobs and the economy are its main priority.

Emotionally charged week and history that began with his announcement televised nationally that bin Laden had been killed in a raid in Pakistan by us special forces Obama Saturday returned to the promotion of his agenda of energy.

US forces attacked a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where the bin Ladens lived for several years, killing the leader of al-Qaida.

The news of the disappearance of Osama bin Laden has dominated the headlines of the week.

"So well that our economy did not the subject of the news this week, not a day goes by that I am not focused on your work, your hopes and your dreams,"Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address."."

He recorded the address Friday during a visit of a transmissions of Indianapolis plant which manufactures systems for hybrid vehicles.

Obama has travelled across the country to speak about his plan to reduce U.S. petroleum consumption - abroad and has the price Americans pay for it - by increasing domestic oil production, encouraging a shift to alternative energy sources and the construction of vehicles that use less fuel.

He said moves to jobs as those Indianapolis plant will create more jobs and contribute to the growth of the economy.

"The plant clean energy jobs are the jobs of the future jobs that pay well here in America," said Obama. "It's own energy companies like it that will keep our economy growing, creating new jobs and make sure America remains the most prosperous nation in the world."

Republicans spent their weekly message to bin Laden.

Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown commended years of diligent work by the military and intelligence professionals to locate the location of Osama bin Laden. Death of the leader of the al-Qaeda, stated Mr. Brown, sends a clear message to others like bin Laden.

"The example will not lost on other terrorists,", said Mr. Brown. "Any leaking they do will be temporary." No refuge, as they will be discovered. Those who harm or threaten the American people will be dealt with, on our terms, however long it takes. ?
