SABMiller year proft 26 per cent

LONDON - SABMiller, second brewer in the world, says that its profit for the year increased by 26% as displayed in the margins and volumes lager company earnings.

For the year ending March 13, the manufacturer of Peroni, Grolsch and Miller Lite said Thursday that its net profit was 2.4 billion, compared to $ 1.9 billion the previous year.

Income increased by 7% to $ 28.3 billion. Lager volume was 2 for hundred, while margin before taxes increased by 18%.

SABMiller shares increased by 0.6% to question pence early trading on the London Stock Exchange.

"The results reflect the history of developing market of the SAB in our view, with Africa and the South Africa, both well before expectations," analysts of values securities Investec Martin Deboo and Gideon Adler said in a research note.

Volume increased 10% in Asia, 13 per cent in Africa (excluding South Africa) compensated for the difficult markets in Europe and North America, where volumes decreased by 3%. South Africa volume increased by 2%.

MillerCoors, U.S. joint-venture in which SABMiller has a 58 percent stake, reported volume decline of 3%, but revenue increased due to increases in prices and the growth of low-volume one-digit at the end of the premium of the market.

In the future, SABMiller said North American markets and Europeans will remain difficult because of uncertainties about the pace of economic recovery, but the company plans to continue with selective price increases.
