Hardware manufacturer agricultural Deere & Co. reported an increase of 65 percent in its fiscal second-quarter profit and predicted strong growth in sales during its fiscal year 2011, which ends in October. Deere predicts the net income of 2.65 billion in 2011. Here are a few highlights of the Moline, Ill., perspectives of the company.
? Deere predicts sales will grow 21 to 23% overall because current high prices will boost the income of most farmers.
? Agricultural equipment sales are expected to increase by 5 to 10 per cent to the United States and the Canada and about 15 per cent in Western and Central Europe.
? South America, sales of agricultural equipment should reduce from 5 to 10 percent because of declining demand in the Brazil and Argentina.
Deere construction and forestry equipment ? global sales should increase by 35% more low levels of last year, but remain far below peak levels.
